Introducing theme maps
See how many people raised each theme, filter by any segment from your CRM, and watch patterns change as new research arrives.

Theme boards have always shown what customers said. Theme maps show how much it matters: how many people raised each theme, who they are, and whether that is growing. They are available today on Team, Business and Enterprise plans.
What’s new
- Counts by person, not just by highlight — so one talkative participant can’t make a theme look bigger than it is.
- Segment filters built from participant fields, including fields synced from Ledgerly CRM.
- A side panel for each theme with its summary, counts and the strongest supporting quote.
- Week-over-week change, so you can see a theme emerge across studies.
Why we built it
In our own interviews, research leads told us the same story: a vivid quote in a readout would launch a project, and three months later someone would ask how many customers actually had that problem. Answering meant re-reading the study. Theme maps make that answer one click away, with the evidence still attached.
“I don’t need more quotes. I need to know whether this is two people or twenty.”
How to try it
- 1Open any study with at least five tagged interviews.
- 2Choose Theme map from the view switcher.
- 3Add a segment filter — company size, plan or region work well to start.
A note on counting
Counts are a guide, not a verdict. Qualitative studies are designed to find problems, not to measure how common they are across your whole customer base. Theme maps make the size of a theme within your research visible so you can ask better questions — for example, whether a pattern from fourteen interviews also shows up in support tickets or survey answers.
Coming next
Cross-study theme maps, so a theme that appears in onboarding interviews and support tickets shows up as one line with both sources.
